In recognition of its selection, Bowker will provide free access to BooksInPrint.com for attendees at the show. Visitors will be able to discover complete bibliographic details on more than 5.9 million U.S. book, audio book, and video titles from the Bowker database, which is widely regarded throughout the publishing industry as the most authoritative and comprehensive source of bibliographic data available worldwide. According to D’Agostino, Bowker will also be introducing significant enhancements to a number of their highly acclaimed product offerings for the publishing industry. Notably, the company will be offering demonstrations of its recently introduced Fiction Connection tool, which allows individuals to search similar titles by entering the title of a book they already know they enjoy, or browsing by location, topic, character, genre, timeframe, or setting. The user is then provided with a comprehensive list of suggested reading that has characteristics matching their original search criteria. For instance, a search of The Da Vinci Code will offer title suggestions such as The Third Secret: A Novel of Suspense, The Book of Q, and Eyes of the Virgin.
