Pubeasy® integrates Edelweiss, pairing transactions with catalog creation and review

New Providence, NJ - May 24, 2011 - A new agreement between Bowker and Above the Treeline brings together two popular book industry platforms, streamlining workflow across the publishing industry. PubEasy®, Bowker’s global inquiry and ordering service for the book industry, will now integrate Above the Treeline’s popular Edelweiss online catalog system, enabling retailers and publishers to coordinate transactions and marketing in one place.

PubEasy offers thousands of publisher imprints and millions of titles to over 16,000 booksellers in 125 countries. Publishers, distributors and wholesalers join PubEasy to get exposure to a large universe of potential clients, while increasing the ease with which those booksellers can conduct business with their suppliers. Edelweiss is an online interactive publisher catalog service that enhances or replaces the use of traditional hard copy publisher catalogs. With features such as keyword search, interior images, twitter and blog tracking, title tags, and others, Edelweiss goes far beyond simple posted PDF's to provide a buying and research tool that cannot be matched with hard copy catalogs.

Under the new agreement, users will login to the Pubeasy site and have access to both Pubeasy tools and the Edelweiss catalog system. Publishers can create their catalogs using Edelweiss and open them to retailers via Edelweiss or Pubeasy. For retailers, having the two systems integrated enables them to review publisher catalogs, order titles and conduct business with publishers in one place.
