| The British Library Selects Syndetic Solutions for Catalogue Enrichment |

East Grinstead, U.K. - January 12, 2009 - Bowker is delighted to announce that it has won the contract to provide catalogue enrichment to the British Library via their Syndetic Solutions service. The agreement includes the provision of Tables of Content, Images, Annotations, First Chapters and Author notes for UK and US published titles held within the British Library collection. The enriched data seamlessly appears within the Library OPAC records, delivering a richer, more visual user experience and aiding search and discovery. According to Doug McMillan, Vice President and Managing Director for Bowker UK and International, “We are thrilled to be awarded the contract to fulfil this British Library requirement. It is a reflection of the excellent depth and breadth of UK content we are able to offer via Syndetic Solutions and the benefit of seamless delivery through close cooperation with Library System vendors.” Subscribing libraries select from a menu of enrichment options which include cover images, summaries, tables of contents, first chapters, excerpts, reviews, series information, awards, find similar titles, author notes and profiles. Linking is based on automatic ISBN recognition, the service is fully hosted and compatible with most OPAC systems so no integration or maintenance is required by the library.
