Booklog Introduces Advanced Documents Sets POS System Now Accepts Electronic 810 Invoice and 856 ASN Documents NEW PROVIDENCE, N.J. - June 22, 2004 - Booklog, a leader in point-of-sale and inventory management software, has announced today that users of its POS system may begin receiving Advanced Documents Sets from publishers, wholesalers and distributors via Pubnet®, the book industry’s premier EDI service. Beyond PO and POA documents, Advanced Document Sets encompass electronic 856 ASN (Advanced Shipment Notices) and 810 Invoice EDI document sets. By receiving these electronic documents, bookstores will receive information quicker and have the ability to further streamline operations. Know the details of what’s being shipped before it is received with 856 ASNs. In addition to packing slips, publishers can now send bookstores electronic copies of packing details before the package is shipped. This notification better prepares bookstores for shipment deliveries and acts as a proactive tool for identifying order discrepancies. No more snail mail. Electronic 810 Invoices are delivered faster, directly to bookstore POS systems. Faster delivery offers bookstores more time to manage their financials, not to mention saving publishers, wholesalers and distributors money on postage. Booklog’s decision to add Advanced Document Set capabilities to its POS system opens the door to even greater integration abilities, including: • Shipment Receipt Scanning — that links shipments received to 856 ASNs, eliminating manual entry of items into the inventory system • Electronic payment of invoices is just around the corner, and receiving 810 Invoices is the first step to making this a reality. Forging forward, Booklog plans on additional enhancements with their POS systems and Pubnet including a new Internet Stock Checking Link. Booklog users with a current maintenance contract, a Pubnet Interface, and access to Pubnet will receive a free update to their POS system upon request. All other users who wish to incorporate this update, may contact Booklog for more information.
